Caitlin Clark provided one WNBA reporter with a life hack after an Indiana Fever press conference momentarily went off the rails.

While speaking to members of the media on Saturday, Clark — who recently opened up about a touching gesture from LeBron James while she was sidelined due to injury — was in the midst of an answer when a reporter loudly sneezed. Rather than continue with her response, the star guard paused to say, “Bless You.”

The kind gesture was appreciated by the reporter, as they promptly thanked Clark. “No problem,” she replied before chuckling to herself. “No, I know how it is. I gotcha.”

In a hilarious turn of events, Clark took the awkward moment to educate the rest of the room on how to sneeze on command. “You don’t want to hold it in, you just gotta [sneeze],” she explained. “Look up at the light and it makes you sneeze. That’s a hack.”

Clark will be doing everything in her power to stay healthy this season following an injury-riddled 2025 campaign, during which she was limited to just 13 games.

The 24-year-old battled soft tissue injuries to her groins and quads, only to then suffer a bone bruise in her left ankle while attempting to make a postseason comeback.

The numerous setbacks were especially difficult for Clark, given that she managed to play in all 139 possible games at Iowa during her four-year collegiate career. "I put together a pretty incredible stretch of never missing a game," the former Hawkeye said.

"The fact is when you're a professional athlete, it's going to come at some point. ... It's honestly taught me more than I probably ever learned over the course of my career.

“How to take care of your body. How to get right. How to stay healthy. And then just taking time for yourself. Being hurt is an incredibly isolating thing, and you don't really understand it until you go through it."

Ahead of the 2026 regular season, Fever head coach Stephanie White commended Clark for the immense amount of work she’s put in to be available this year. “I’m excited for her. She put in a lot of work to prepare herself,” White noted.

“I mean, not just the work that you do in the gym, right? It’s in the weight room, it’s conditioning, it’s movement patterns. It’s nutrition, it’s sleep. It’s all of those things.

“As young players, you’re able to get by with only doing some of those things. And I think as you start to get older and you start to go through the ebbs and flows of what a career is like — and injury and all the other things — you really understand the value of all of it, collectively. And I think she made it all a priority in the offseason.”

Though all eyes will be on Clark to see whether the lengthy hiatus has caused her to miss a step, White insisted that she wants nothing more than for the 2024 Rookie of the Year to rediscover her love for basketball.

“But most importantly for Caitlin, for somebody who loves to just play, just to find joy in playing again,” White continued. “I mean, it’s hard when you’re injured, and you’re in and out. And you don’t really know what to expect, or you don’t really trust sometimes your body, and things that are happening.

“So I’m proud of her and the work she’s put in, and the commitment that she continues to make. And I’m happy for her that she can find joy in playing again, and just go out and do what she does best.”
