Candace Cameron Bure is opening up about the time she took a leap of faith — and ended up at a “dark and demonic” party.

The *Full House* alum and proud Christian recalled the awkward night out on her eponymous podcast, during a conversation with former *Bachelor* contestant Madi Prewett about the type of friends they’ve surrounded themselves with, and the lessons learned along the way.

Bure, 49, recounted a “shameful” experience once when she accepted a friend’s invitation to a party in an effort to be “cool.” But when the actress and her husband, former professional hockey player Valeri Bure, walked in, the festivities were absolutely sinful.

“It ended up being this underground party that was an S&M, like, sex thing that was so dark and demonic,” Bure told Prewett. “My eyeballs were popping out of my head because I saw stuff I had never seen before in my life. And I’m looking at Val, going like, ‘How are we here? What is happening?’”

The couple, who married in 1996, “made a hard U-turn” and immediately walked out of the party.

“It was just so slimy and weird,” cringed Bure. “And I was like [to Val], ‘We’re going to pause before we ever say yes to going out with that friend again.’”

The Bures are no prudes, however. In a previous episode of *The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast*, the host dished on intimacy with her husband of 30 years — and revealed there is one thing that “weirds me out”: “a visual of God watching me having sex.”

“It totally just depends on your upbringing and what your past experiences have been or the things that you were taught as a kid,” Bure explained to Prewett, who has been co-hosting the current season of her podcast. “I’m almost 50, and some of those adolescent thoughts never quite leave your mind or those high school teenage thoughts never quite leave your mind.”

Bure was only 20 when she married the Russian-born NHL player after two years of dating (fun fact: they were introduced by her *Full House* costar Dave Coulier). “Purity culture,” as she explained it, expected her to be a virgin until her wedding night.

“And it was a little... I don't want to quite use the word shameful, but there were parts of it that felt shameful because I went from not being a sexual person to [people] saying, like, now you can do whatever you want,” she confessed. “And so it felt weird. There wasn't a good bridge there.”

Bure broke the cycle with her three children — Natasha, 27, Lev, 25, and Maksim, 24 — when it came to having “the talk” about sex, she told Prewett. “I've done a lot of parenting and had a lot of conversations in this area over the years.”
