Prime Video released the first teaser for Elle.

The Legally Blonde prequel series finds teenage Elle Woods moving to Seattle.

Lexi Minetree plays young Elle, while Reese Witherspoon serves as executive producer.

It turns out that Harvard wasn't Elle Woods' first big move.

Prime Video has released the debut teaser for Elle, the Legally Blonde prequel series. Lexi Minetree steps in for Reese Witherspoon as the pink-loving future lawyer takes on two scary propositions: high school and Seattle.

Set in 1995, Elle celebrates her birthday in fabulous fashion at her family's Bel-Air mansion, only to then learn that her doctor dad, Wyatt (Tom Everett Scott), has landed a job in the Pacific Northwest. Told that they will be going to Seattle for a "couple years," a panicked Elle declares, "That's my whole life."

In the new look at the series, Elle trades in sunshine and pools for rain and dark-haired classmates. "I'm feeling very blonde," Elle declares upon being dropped off at school, before her mom, Eva (June Diane Raphael), spots another blonde, whose roots aren't up to their standards. "Yeah, I hope that's a choice."

Here's the official logline for Elle: "Season one follows Elle Woods before she was a fish-out-of-water at Harvard. We meet her in 1995 as a fish in the tumultuous waters of high school where she encounters tricky friendships, forbidden romance, and questionable fashion choices. Through it all, Elle uses her family as a touchstone, and forms an even tighter bond to her mother, proving that they can get through anything life throws their way as long as they have each other. With each challenge she faces, Elle grows closer to the Elle Woods we know and love today."

Witherspoon initially brought Woods to life in the 2001 hit comedy Legally Blonde, as the sorority president attempts to win her aspiring politician ex back by following him to Harvard Law School. Witherspoon returned for 2003's Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde, and a third film has long been in development. The Oscar winner is now an executive producer on Elle.

"Fans will get to know how Elle Woods navigated her world as a teenager with her distinct personality and ingenuity, in ways that only our beloved Elle could do," Witherspoon previously teased. "What could be better than that?"

The series launches July 1 on Prime Video, and the late James Van Der Beek is set to appear posthumously in Elle as a recurring guest-star.
