A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder has been renewed for a third and final season

The hit Netflix series will focus on the third book in Holly Jackson’s bestselling series of the same name

Several of the cast members — including lead actress Emma Myers — are reprising their roles one last time

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is gearing up for its final mystery.

The young adult series has been renewed by Netflix for season 3, but the streamer also announced that the series will come to an end after its third season. The breakout show, which is based on Holly Jackson’s bestselling novels of the same name, will be released sometime in 2027.

“I’m ecstatic that we are able to bring A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder to its (bloody) conclusion,” Jackson, who also serves as writer and executive producer of the show, told Netflix in June 2026.

Jackson also confirmed that, just as the first two seasons were adapted from her first two novels, the third season will focus on her third book, As Good as Dead.

The series stars teenage sleuth Pippa “Pip” Fitz-Amobi (Emma Myers), who investigates various crimes and secrets in her hometown. The second season mostly follows Pip’s search for Jamie Reynolds (Eden H. Davies), who disappears a few days before he is supposed to appear as the lead witness in a case against Max (Henry Ashton). Max is accused of raping two of his classmates, Becca Bell (Carla Woodcock) and Nat de Silva (Jessica Webber).

Has A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder been renewed for season 3?

Netflix announced in June 2026 that A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder had been renewed for a third and final season.

“I’m very happy that we get to bring everyone Season 3 of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder,” Myers told Netflix at the time. “Thank you so much to everyone who has given this show love and support throughout! This has truly been an incredible experience, and Pip will be a character I will never forget. Book 3 is my favorite of all the books, so I’m very excited to show everyone what we’ve done. Get ready for a crazy time!”

The final season will consist of four episodes.

Season 3 of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder will pick up where the dramatic season 2 finale left off and center around the events of Jackson’s third book, As Good as Dead.

“As Good as Dead is my favorite of the book series, and it’s by far my favorite season of the show too. You’ll see Pip as you’ve never seen her before,” Jackson told Netflix. “It’s dark, breathless, horrible, and somehow still manages to be funny. Come on back to Little Kilton for the final time … if you dare.”

The streamer also teased that “Pip will need all of her wits about her to solve the ultimate mystery — and save herself from a deadly fate.” At the same time, Pip must also deal with the aftermath of her previous investigations.

The second season of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder initially appeared to be neatly wrapped up after Pip solved the mystery of Jamie’s disappearance and attended the funeral of Stanley Forbes (Misia Butler) after failing to save his life. When Pip returns home after the funeral, however, she finds all of her belongings scattered. There is also a threatening message on her computer screen that reads, “Who will look for you when you’re the one who disappears?”

The frightening message appears to be just the beginning, as Pip may have to confront her stalker once and for all.

Several of the show’s main cast members will reprise their roles for season 3 of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder.

In addition to Myers, Davies, Morgan-Collie and Ashton, the season 3 cast includes Zain Iqbal as Ravi Singh, Asha Banks as Cara Ward and Yali Topol Margalith as Lauren Gibson.

When will A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder season 3 be released?

Season 3 of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder has finished production and will be released sometime in 2027. While Netflix hasn’t announced an exact premiere date, the previous two seasons aired in July 2024 and May 2026, respectively.
