The cast promised “brilliant bakers” and “gorgeous bakes” for the upcoming season
The Great British Baking Show is making its grand return.
The baking competition show is returning for collection 14 with new judge Nigella Lawson next month, the show revealed on its Instagram.
The culinary series shared a collaborative post with host Alison Hammond on Aug. 18, in which Hammond dances up to the screen while singing and throwing sprinkles in front of the camera. In the caption of the post, Hammond writes, “Bake Off returns next month on Channel 4. See you in the tent! 👩🏾🍳🎂.”
A representative for Netflix confirmed that the show will air on Netflix in the U.S. following the U.K. Channel 4 broadcast weeklyas in previous years.
“The bake is back,” text on the screen says in Hammond’s video.
“DA DA DA DAAAAA! 🎶😂❤️ It’s official… The Great British Bake Off is BACK! 🥳🍰,” Hammond wrote in the caption of her post. “I’m so excited for you all to meet this year’s brilliant bakers. They’ve brought the talent, the laughs, the nerves and, of course, some absolutely gorgeous bakes into the tent!”
“We’ve had the BEST time filming this series, and I genuinely can’t wait for you to see what we’ve got in store. No spoilers from me though… 🤐😂,” she wrote.
Also on Aug. 18, new judge Lawson shared a clip on her Instagram showing her walking up to the camera in a purple jumpsuit with a fork.
“Oh, luscious!” she says before digging in.
“I’m a bit nervous, very excited, and extremely happy: Bake Off is back on our screens next month!” Lawson wrote in her caption. “I’ve loved every minute. It’s a real honour to be part of something so special.”

The TV chef, 66, is taking over the judge spot left by Prue Leith, who took a step back after her ninth season in collection 13.
Lawson continued, “Thank you @paul.hollywood @alisonhammond55 and @noel_fielding for making me feel so instantly part of the family. You three plus cake: talk about the dream job!”
“The Bake Off foursome have spent the hottest summer together in the tent, with a new intake of bakers rising to each of the challenges,” a release shared with PEOPLE says of Lawson, Hollywood, Hammond and Fielding.

“Viewers can expect to see Nigella bringing her trademark warmth, wit and passion for flavour to the tent, alongside Paul Hollywood and his famously exacting eye for a great bake,” the release continues. “Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding return to guide the bakers and keep them smiling through the thrills, spills and showstoppers in what promises to be a truly delicious series.”
The date announcement follows the show sharing a first look at Lawson’s role as co-judge on the show after her new role was announced in January.
A joint Instagram post with the show’s account, Lawson, fellow judge Paul Hollywood and hosts Hammond and Noel Fielding revealed the first official cast image for the new season.
The caption reads, “Life is about to get sweeter. Bake Off is coming soon…”
“This has been a dream this year, thanks Gang ❤️,” Hollywood, 60, commented on the post.
Lawson also shared her enthusiasm, writing, “I love being part of this gang!”
The food writer reflected on her new position in a post revealing the cast change earlier this year. She paid homage to Leith, 86, and her predecessor, Mary Berry, 91.
“I’m uncharacteristically rather lost for words right now!” she said. “Of course it’s daunting to be following in the footsteps of Prue Leith and Mary Berry before her, great dames both, but I’m also bubbling with excitement.”
“The Great British Bake Off is more than a television programme, it’s a National Treasure – and it’s a huge honour to be entrusted with it,” she continued. “I’m just thrilled to be joining the team and all the new bakers to come.”
Lawson also opened up about joining the show on This Morning, a British daytime talk show, with hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard.
“I think one of the reasons why Bake Off has been so enduringly popular, is that it feels like it’s about community. And I guess we just all need that,” she said.
A specific release date for The Great British Baking Show has not yet been announced.
