The story of Bon Jovi will soon be livin' on the big screen.
Jon Bon Jovi and his iconic rock band are set to be the subject of a biopic from Universal and writer Cody Brotter, ** can confirm. As of now, no director or cast members are attached to the project.
Frontman Jon Bon Jovi will be involved with the film, which will have access to the group's extensive library of hits. Gotham Chopra is producing the biopic after previously directing *Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story*, a four-part Hulu documentary series from 2024.
The New Jersey-based Bon Jovi was formed in 1983 by Jon Bongiovi (a.k.a. Jon Bon Jovi), Richie Sambora, David Bryan, Tico Torres, and Alec John Such. They reached worldwide success in 1986 with their third album, *Slippery When Wet*, which included their legendary hit "Livin' on a Prayer."

The music biopic has become one of Hollywood's favorite genres. Jamie Foxx (*Ray*), Reese Witherspoon (*Walk the Line*), and Rami Malek (*Bohemian Rhapsody*) are among the actors to win Oscars for their musical performances, and recent years have seen Elton John, Bob Dylan, and Elvis Presley get the biopic treatment.
In terms of the Bon Jovi casting process, you have to imagine that Jon Bon Jovi's son, actor Jake Bongiovi, is practicing his vocals right now. Hey, it worked for Ice Cube and *Straight Outta Compton*!
