Winnie the Bish is taking Aly out in real life.

Lamorne Morris, who played Winston "Winnie" Bishop on *New Girl*, recently surprised his onscreen girlfriend Nasim Pedrad by asking her out.

"Imma go date Nasim," Morris said in the middle of an episode of *The Mess Around*, the rewatch podcast he cohosts with Hannah Simone, who portrayed Cece Parekh on the sitcom. "Let me call Nasim. You think I'm playing? Imma go date Nasim. Hold on."

Simone encouraged the idea. "Everybody's been wanting this!" she said. "Everybody's been shipping this for a long time."

Morris called Pedrad while recording the podcast and held his phone up to his microphone as she responded. "You're on our podcast right now — you're with me and Hannah," he said when she picked up. "And I was just like, 'You know what? I'm just gonna date Nasim in real life.' So what's up?"

"Are you talking about now or back then?" Pedrad replied.

"No, now," Morris clarified. "You got a man? You dating somebody? I just saw you the other day. You seem single."

"Are you asking me out on a date?" asked Pedrad, who joined *New Girl* as Aly Nelson, Winston's partner in the LAPD, in 2015.

"Not a date. More like let's just be boyfriend-girlfriend," Morris said, laughing.

"You wanna jump to the end?" Pedrad asked.

"Ask her out on a date!" Simone insisted.

"Yeah, but we've gone on many dates as friends," Morris said.

"Yeah, as friends," Pedrad responded. "I guess... Would you call those dates, or like friendship hangs? Is this really happening on a podcast?"

Hannah Simone says Prince joined 'New Girl' because of his crush on her

"Yeah, it's happening on a podcast," Morris confirmed. "Nasim, you're being too complicated, right? People are listening."

"So chaotic, I'm obsessed, it's great," Pedrad said.

"So yeah, I'm gonna ask you on a date," Morris reiterated. "I don't know when. I ain't got the time. But I will make the time."

"I'm down," Pedrad said. "Let's go on a date."

"Yeah, we're going on a date," Morris responded. "This time I'm gonna have a rose. I'm gonna wear some spicy cologne."

Pedrad then teased Morris about previous conversations they've had in recent years. "Oh my God, are you gonna talk to me about the girls you met on Raya? 'Cause that's a huge part of our relationship right now," the *Saturday Night Live* alum said.

"Uh, I mean I could, if that's what you're into. That's weird," Morris replied before wrapping the call. "Alright, love ya. Drive carefully —it's raining out."

"Love you guys. Bye!" Pedrad said before hanging up.

Simone was stunned by Morris' success. "You two really need to date 'cause that was literally the worst way to ask a woman out on a date, and you still somehow got a date," she said.

"Oh my God," she continued. "Do you understand? That's magic. You guys have a real friendship — that's a true foundation. Y'all are age-appropriate. She's hot as hell. She's got a job."

Morris and Simone costarred on all seven seasons of *New Girl *before the show ended its run on Fox in 2018.
