Meghan Markle is embracing British fashion for her return to the U.K. — with a subtle nod to her royal debut.
The Duchess of Sussex, 45, stepped out in Nottingham, England, on Thursday, Oct. 15, alongside Prince Harry for their first official joint engagement since moving their family back to Britain.
For the occasion, Meghan wore an ensemble entirely from British fashion labels, including one she famously wore during her first official royal outing in the very same city nearly nine years ago.
The visit marked the couple’s return to a city that holds special significance in their relationship, as it was in Nottingham that Meghan, 45, and Harry, 42, made their first joint outing after announcing their engagement in November 2017.

Harry and Meghan visited the city on Dec. 1, 2017, just four days after sharing their engagement news with the world. The trip marked Meghan’s first time accompanying Harry on an official royal outing.
For the occasion, Meghan opted for a burgundy coat, matching turtleneck and earrings by British luxury brand Joseph. She paired the pieces with a skirt by The Fold London and heels by Jennifer Chamandi, completing the polished look with her hair pulled back into a sleek ponytail.

But there was another connection to the couple’s history in Nottingham: Meghan also wore Joseph during her first official royal engagement in the city on Dec. 1, 2017.

The all-British ensemble was also a fitting choice for Meghan’s first official engagement since returning to the U.K. in August with Harry and their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5.
Meghan has long incorporated British labels into her wardrobe, both during her time as a working royal and in the years since stepping back from royal duties in 2020.

The couple began Thursday’s visit at the Community Recording Studio (CRS), a youth charity that Harry has supported for years. They greeted cheering well-wishers upon their arrival, with Meghan accepting bouquets of flowers and telling one member of the crowd, “It’s great to be back.”
The day will also include visits to Himmah Hub, a community organization focused on food poverty, and Epic Partners, which supports young people and families through mentoring, education and other programs.
