The fifth season of The Bear will be its last, FX announced on Wednesday.
All episodes of the final season will premiere on June 25 and stream on Hulu.
The final season will also air on FX’s cable channel, showing new episodes weekly through early August.
Jamie Lee Curtis may tell you a joke, but she wasn't telling fans a lie when she spilled the beans that The Bear would be ending with its upcoming fifth season.
On Wednesday, FX announced that not only will season 5 of the award-winning series be its final run, but its premiere will arrive sooner than fans thought. All eight episodes of the season will premiere on Hulu on June 25, available to stream at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT, exactly a year after the premiere of season four.
The final season will also air on FX's cable channel, with two episodes on the premiere date and weekly airings through early August.

Season 5 of The Bear will pick up the morning after the events of season 4's finale, when Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), and Natalie "Sugar" (Abby Elliott) discover that Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) has quit the food industry, leaving the restaurant to them.
With no money, the threat of a sale, and a torrential storm in their way, the new partners must band together with the rest of the team to achieve one last service, hoping they'll finally earn a Michelin star. Ultimately, they learn that what makes a restaurant "perfect" might not be the food, but the people.
The half-hour series also stars Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Matty Matheson, with Ricky Staffieri, Oliver Platt, Will Poulter, and Jamie Lee Curtis in recurring roles.
The news of season 5 comes on the heels of Tuesday's surprise release of "Gary," a flashback episode that follows Richie and Carmy's late older brother Mikey (Jon Bernthal) as they embark on a road trip from Chicago to Gary, Ind., to drop off a package.

The episode was written by Moss-Bachrach and Bernthal and directed by The Bear creator, director, and showrunner Christopher Storer.
The surprise episode explores Richie and Mikey’s complex relationship as the longtime best friends stop by local restaurants, play basketball, drink, and share deep confessions about their lives and mental states. Mikey's later death by suicide serves as the inciting incident for the very first season of The Bear, with his younger brother returning to Chicago to take over his restaurant.

Created by Storer, The Bear debuted in 2022 and became a word-of-mouth sensation. The first season won 10 Emmys, including for best comedy series, and cemented White and Edebiri as a leading duo. Season 2 picked up 11 Emmy wins, but Season 3 was shut out with 13 nominations and zero wins. Season 4 is eligible for this year's award season, while the final installment will compete in 2027.
